Chapter 3

Lisa’s POV

I stiffened immediately on seeing the face on the video. It was blurry but I could still make out the faces. It was a female and that of Andre.

Andre Luster.

My husband. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

They were buck naked on the bed. I pinched myself in hopes that this was some sick game targeted at me but the more I stared at the video, the more real it became and the more I recognized who the male is in the coital affair.

No! this is just an attack. Who ever this is knows I am the wife of billionaire, Andre luster. This must be some AL shit.

I threw my phone on the bed and walked into the shower. The water was too cold. I got out and went to get myself some food but it was too hurt. Suddenly I was feeling too hot. I felt like some prisoner in my clothes. I walked around the house but I still was not satisfied. Finally I went for a swim. As I sat, trying to catch my breath, then the tears began to fall freely. This time I did nothing to stop it. I cried like I had never done in my life.

I cried like I had no family. When I noticed some movement behind me I dunked into the water. I was able to put my head up, and wiped my face. I walked out of the pool and went upstairs. I gave instructions that I did not want to be disturbed even if it had to do with food.

*******

I sat motionless on my bed. The phone on the bed. I stared at it. My heart thumped. As my hand made contact with the phone, it burned. I couldn’t bring myself to watch the video.

********

Minutes turned to hours and Andre was not yet still home. I picked up my phone and took in a deep breath. Then I clicked on the video. And just like I assumed, it was a sex video of my husband and this model looking girl. Immediately I stopped the video and went into the bathroom to throw up.

My heart was shattered into tiny fragments.

“Guess What? I am already pregnant” the message read.

Tears began to fall from my eyes again.

I was all alone. Andre was like all I got. I kind of turned my back on my family to be with him. How could he do this to me? I tried to cry without making noise but the more I tried the more pain I felt in my chest. It was like I was going to die. After going on a crying spree, I pulled myself together and sat still. I decided I was going to confront him.

So I sat waiting for his return. The longer I stayed, the more it seemed like he was running from me.

Two hours later, Andre’s car pulled up into the house. He walked out of the car before the driver could pack well. He walked majestically into the house. I fixed my blouse and sat waiting.

The swinging of the door made me know he had come upstairs and just like that he was standing in front of me

“Hello Andre” I said. Andre cocked his head to the side. I almost never called him Andre or be way too formal.

“Hi baby “ he said as his weight made the bed dip. He began taking off his shoes. I narrowed my eyes at him. The nerve to call me baby whilst cheating on me. I am sure he was waiting for me to Fawn over him like I always did Lately. But I didn’t . I just sat there in my Jeans and sweater stating up at him. I hoped my deadpanned look still gave nothing away.

“How was work?” I asked smiling but it felt like the smile was about to slice my face in two.

“ Good. It’s hectic these days” he said. It was then I knew I couldn’t hold it in any longer.

“Are you cheating on me?” I hissed.

“What?” He turned to stare at me.

“You heard me perfectly well. Don’t try to think up a clever answer” I sighed. “ just tell me the Truth.

“ where the hell Is this coming from?” he asked.

I took out my phone and began to play the video for Andre. “ From here and it’s pretty reliable “

Andre clenched his fists as he cussed profanities.

“ I see you have gotten yourself involved in some extracurricular activities huh Andre!” I yelled his name.

“its not what you—” Andre tried to touch me but I shoved him away.

“Don’t you dare touch me “I Spat? He stopped, running his hands over his hair.

“Congratulations too, you are also going to be a father” my voice dripped of bitterness. It hurt that I wasn’t the only one carrying his child. I wanted to make him feel pain. Andre paced our room and finally took a pillow and left for the couch. Sadly He didn’t realize I was talking about me. About my pregnancy.

*********

2 days later.

“He did what!” Becky squealed. Becky was my best friend. My Ride or die.

“Ssshhh” I looked around. “ He might hear you”

“ why the hell are you still in that house?” she said in Clenched teeth.

“calm down babe. He said we would talk. I believe we can get it all solved. Please promise me you won’t tell my parents.

“ I really want to Lisa. I mean how could you allow Andre treat you like this.”

“ how—” suddenly I heard a loud voice. It was female and it kept squealing. Who could it be in my house. I went downstairs and I was immediately greeted with bags upon bags.

When I looked at the face, standing in front of me I froze.

“what the fuck!”

It was the freaking side piece in my house.

The morning sun slanted through the glass tower of Archer Design, casting the interview room in honeyed light that felt too warm, too exposing. I smoothed my navy pencil skirt for the third time and tried to steady my breathing. Four months of unemployment had taught me the taste of desperation, and I wouldn't let it show today. 'Your portfolio is impressive, Ms. Carroll,' said the hiring manager, a woman with kind eyes and a stack of my work spread before her. 'The layout work for Vantage Media was particularly strong.' 'Thank you,' I replied, keeping my voice level. 'I believe in letting the design speak for itself, but not letting it scream.' She smiled, and I felt a flutter of hope. The final round interview had gone better than I'd dared to expect. As I gathered my portfolio, she extended her hand. 'We'll be in touch by tomorrow morning.' I sat motionless in the living room of Alexander's penthouse, my eyes fixed on the massive screen that dominated the wall. The champagne in my glass remained untouched, growing warm in my trembling hand as I watched the man I'd given everything to slip a diamond ring onto another woman's finger. The camera zoomed in on Alexander's face as he smiled at Victoria Blackwood—that practiced, charming smile I once believed was reserved only for me.
