Betrayed by My Warrior Mate,My Identity As Secret Guard Unveiled

Erisa and her lover Blaze were in the guest room while I was supposed to be asleep. However, I didn't sleep a wink that night. I smoked cigarettes all night long. Finally, I decided that this is the end. The next day, when Erisa and Blaze went on a mission, I went alone to the valley where the rogues were. When Erisa saw me again, I had become a charred corpse. But all of this was just an elaborate hoax I had set up, and my true identity was also revealed...

Chapter 3

"When's the next operation?" She flinched, clearly startled. "In five days. A big siege on their Misty Valley stronghold. They're like bloodthirsty demon." "Honey, I'm so sorry. It's your birthday, but I have to go. The pack needs me." I forced a smile. "Go. Just come back safe. I'll be waiting." "Darling," Erisa chirped. "My team wants a get - together. Can we have a party here tomorrow? It'll be amazing!" Her wide eyes fluttered, and she tugged my arm. "Okay. Since you want it so much." She threw her arms around me, and kissed my cheek. "You're the best!" The next day, in the family's grand ballroom "I've never laid eyes on that shadowy guard. He's so mysterious!" one voice exclaimed. "Nor have I. All I know is that he's a young man," another chimed in. "I bet he has a soft spot for Erisa. Every time there's trouble, he's the first to show up and handle it on - site for her team," someone else speculated. ... I hung my head in silence. On the surface, I was just a stay - at - home guy, taking care of the domestic affairs, seemingly far removed from the world of warriors and battles. But in reality, they were right. I'd taken on this covert role for Erisa. She was determined to be a warrior, and I couldn't bear to stand in the way of her dreams. So, I chose to protect her from the shadows. I secretly became a stealthy guard for the pack warriors. The deal was that whenever there was a threat, I'd be the first to rush to the scene and neutralize it, especially for Erisa's team. That's how I ended up finding out about her betrayal. Even though I was always there, ready to put my life on the line to keep her safe, she still chose someone else. Erisa thought I was jealous and immediately snapped at the team members. "What nonsense are you spouting?" The moment those team members saw Erisa, they shot up from their chairs. One of them quickly blurted out, "Sis Erisa only has eyes for you. When we were in the Misty Valley last time, she almost got bitten while protecting that token of yours. You know, that's the coming - of - age gift you gave her, and she always keeps it close to her heart." Just then, another member let out a snort, a smirk playing on their lips. "Oh, come on. Samson here is such a dedicated 'household hero'. Always taking care of the home so well while we're out there fighting rogue wolves and whatnot. Erisa's so lucky to have such a... domestic mate." Blaze rose from the corner, arrogance oozing. "Samson, your fame precedes you," he sneered. Without Erisa around, I knew he'd show his true colors. Erisa dragged me around, grinning sickly. "This is my hubby," she cooed. Team members, out of deference, gushed, "Perfect couple!" "Made for each other!" Meanwhile, Blaze seethed in the corner. Knuckles white on his glass, he guzzled drink after drink, trying to blot out the sight of Erisa flaunting me. I, too, had indulged a bit too much. Blaze, on the other hand, had clearly over - imbibed. With a angry glare in my direction, he pushed himself up from his seat, his chair scraping loudly against the floor. He stumbled, and then lurched towards the door. Moments later, the shrill buzz of Erisa's phone cut through the din of the party. She snatched it up, her eyes widening as she read the message . Instantly, her cheeks flushed a deep, embarrassed red, and she shot up from the couch as if she'd been electrocuted. "Honey," she stammered, "there's trouble. Reports of rogue wolves tampering with our border defenses. I have to go, now!" Without waiting for a response, she grabbed her coat and bolted towards the door. Just as I was trying to make sense of what had just happened, my own phone vibrated. I pulled it out. The message was from Erisa, but the words were cold and clinical: "Backyard storage. Surprise." This wasn't Erisa's style. It was a blatant provocation by Blaze.
