As part of the "Exchange Program," Emmett Young moved into my rundown home. The night before he was supposed to head back to the city, he told me how he felt about me and asked if I wanted to join him for studies in the city. I stayed silent, choosing not to defend myself. I quietly gathered my things and left the Youngs' mansion that night. ------------------------------

At Emmett Young's birthday party, his childhood friend Ruthie's family heirloom necklace went missing. Ruthie casually mentioned seeing me sneak back into the house, prompting Emmett to lead a search through my room. Amid the turmoil, he stepped on the Victorian-style dress my grandfather had given me and impatiently said, "Arya Young, return the necklace to Ruthie, and I'll pretend this never happened."

He didn't give me a chance to explain myself before claiming I was guilty. The party guests erupted into chaos.

"Of course, she's a thief, just a country girl from the sticks. What else would you expect?" They looked at me with disdain, their eyes full of contempt.

"What's surprising? She got close to Emmett for his money. She's probably already stolen from the Youngs!"

"No, I didn't take anything..."

I tried to defend myself, but my words were swallowed by their loud jeers.

"This is disgusting. Shouldn't we call the police?"

With a pale face, I desperately looked to Emmett for help, but his expression was full of thinly-veiled disgust. He looked at me mockingly from afar, saying, "Arya Young, you refuse the money I give you because you prefer stealing, don't you?"

Time seemed to stand still at that moment. I couldn't believe what he thought of me. Laughter erupted from the crowd:

"What a hypocrite! How did her parents raise her, to end up a thief?"

"Stealing and getting caught, this is a joke! She's like a clown!"

I shook my head frantically. "I'm not a thief! There are cameras at the party; you can check them. I was in the kitchen the whole time, and Martha can confirm..."

"Enough!"

Emmett's voice cut me off. He wasn't known for his patience, and now, his anger had hushed the crowd. With a dark expression, he shouted at me, "I'll give you one more chance. Return the necklace and apologize to Ruthie."

"Arya, please, just give it back," Ruthie sobbed, leaning against Emmett's shoulder, tears of desperation in her eyes. "I'm begging you. I won't hold anything against you if you just give it back."

The crowd buzzed again: "Give it back, Arya! How can you be so cheap? Don't you see how upset Ruthie is?"

"Ruthie isn't even holding a grudge, so why are you still pretending?"

They were furious, practically ready to tear me apart.

But why should I apologize? I hadn't stolen anything. How could I return something I never took? And why should I have to apologize for something I didn't do?

The Inter-Pack Summit's grand hall glowed with ceremonial torches, casting dramatic shadows across the faces of the most powerful Alphas in the region. I stood at the entrance, my silver aura radiating outward in controlled waves—not a display of emotion, but a calculated reminder of the Silvermoon Pack's strength under my leadership. Marcus positioned himself precisely one step behind me and to my right, his presence a silent comfort through our private mind-link. *They're all watching for weakness,* he observed, his thoughts flowing into mine with familiar ease. *Then they'll find none,* I replied, scanning the room with measured indifference. Alpha Kaelen Blackwood approached first, his dark eyes evaluating me with the same predatory calculation I recognized in myself. "Alpha Victoria," he greeted, inclining his head just slightly enough to acknowledge my status without suggesting submission. "Your champion has brought considerable attention to the Silvermoon territory." "As intended," I replied coolly, the subtle tap of my index finger against my thigh the only outward sign of my strategic assessment. Ryan Mitchell had indeed brought attention—attention I had meticulously orchestrated over five years of investment. The rogue I'd salvaged from starvation had been molded into a weapon that now represented Silvermoon dominance in combat.

The day before the wedding, the extravagant custom-made Victorian-style dress my husband ordered finally arrived. I gently touched my slightly rounded belly and asked him for a divorce. Colton's secretary called, her voice trembling as she explained, "Mrs. Carpenter, this is all my fault. I misunderstood your preferences. Please, don't blame Mr. Thompson." Colton's calming voice came through the phone, leaving me with just one sentence: "Don't regret this." I packed my things and left without a backward glance. After gathering my belongings, I was ready to leave, dragging my suitcase behind me, when I ran into Colton just coming home. He saw the suitcase in my hand and furrowed his brow, his voice cold and detached. "Mina, you're still upset?

The morning light filtered through our penthouse windows, casting golden patterns across the Egyptian cotton sheets. I stirred slowly, consciousness returning in gentle waves. Seven years. Seven years of what I believed was perfect love. "Happy anniversary, my only one," Gabriel's voice caressed my ear as he entered our bedroom, a silver breakfast tray balanced in his hands. His dark hair was slightly disheveled, giving him that boyish charm that still made my heart flutter. "You didn't have to," I murmured, sitting up against the headboard as the scent of fresh croissants and coffee filled the air. "For you, I want to do everything." He set the tray down and sat beside me, his fingers brushing mine as he handed me a steaming cup. No redness appeared on his skin, no hives, no shortness of breath—just the miracle of his touch, reserved only for me. The condition that had brought us together.
