Chapter 2

The moment I stepped into that pitch - black, godforsaken prison, nightmares latched onto me like relentless shadows.

A group of ferocious prison guards, their eyes ablaze with sadistic glee, roughly pinned me down onto the cold, hard bed.

"Do you know what you've done wrong?"

For every question, they would slice a new wound into my flesh with a scalpel, all without the mercy of anesthesia.

The searing pain was so intense that it felt as if they were tearing me apart limb from limb.

While they cut, they hurled insults at me. "You're nothing but a worthless, unwanted mongrel! Alpha Jacob and Sarina are a match made in heaven!"

At first, I fought back.

I thrashed and struggled.

But for each act of resistance, they would brutally remove a part of my body.

They took chunks of my flesh, severed tendons, and even broke bones, leaving me a broken and bleeding mess.

For an entire three - year period, this unrelenting torture never ceased.

Every few days, they would Nilldish their scalpels and run amok on my body, taking whatever parts they pleased.

My once - strong and healthy werewolf body was now a mass of gaping wounds, scars, and missing pieces.

Over time, in a desperate bid to endure less pain, I learned to submit completely.

No matter what they said, I could only nod tearfully.

Suddenly, a small, sharp knife was tossed in front of me.

Alpha Jacob stood there, his brows furrowed in what seemed like a mix of confusion and irritation.

"Selina, what on earth are you babbling about?"

I jerked away from his outstretched hand, my entire body shaking uncontrollably.

"I was wrong! Sarina is the true daughter of Beta Steven. Alpha Jacob and Sarina are a perfect match. I was wrong! Sarina is the true daughter of Beta Steven. Alpha Jacob and Sarina are a perfect match..."

I babbled on, repeating the words like a broken record.

Alpha Jacob froze for a few seconds, then with a look of profound disgust, he shoved me away forcefully.

"Finally, after all these years, you've learned your lesson. If it weren't for Sarina, you'd still be rotting in that prison cell."

"You've only spent three years in prison. Elisa had her hands and feet mutilated by electricity. It took her ages to recover. Compared to the physical and mental trauma she endured, you've got off extremely lightly. And you still have the nerve to act like this here?!"

Jones pointed towards the muddy puddle in the courtyard.

At that moment, several pigs, covered from head to toe in mud, were rolling around contentedly, splashing up muck that emitted a foul stench.

"Selina, you love to act, don't you? Go and roll around with those pigs. Sleep in that mud pit for the night. It'll be a perfect'mud bath' for your filthy self and save you from embarrassing us further!"

Without a moment's hesitation, I dragged my battered and scarred body, staggering and limping, and charged towards the mud pit.

I leaped in without the slightest reservation.

Once, I was locked in a cell with over a dozen violent inmates for three long months. They treated me as their personal toy for releasing their pent - up aggression.

At first, I fought back with all my werewolf might.

I snarled, scratched, and bit, but all my resistance was in vain.

I ended up with a bleeding head, and my body was covered in burns from cigarette butts, with not a single patch of unblemished skin left.

I lay on the cold, hard ground, starved and parched, on the verge of death. The guards, with their sickening smiles, informed me that all this was at the behest of my brothers and Alpha Jacob.

After three years of such relentless torment, I had long since lost any sense of dignity. What did rolling around in a mud pit with pigs matter now? Eventually, covered from head to toe in thick, stinking mud, I huddled in the corner of the pit, a pathetic and broken figure.

Jones emerged from the shadows at some point, a mocking sneer plastered across his face.

"Sleep! You claim you like being with these beasts, don't you? If you don't sleep, it means you're faking it. And if that's the case, I'll send you straight back to that hellhole of a prison where you belong!"

At his words, my body trembled violently with fear.

No, I couldn't go back to that place of endless pain and horror.

The very thought of it sent shivers down my spine, and I curled up even tighter in the mud, praying for this nightmare to end.
