Three Years in Prison for My Mate, Only for Him to Claim Another as His Luna

Three Years in Prison for My Mate, Only for Him to Claim Another as His Luna

Melissa sacrificed everything for Adonis, taking the blame for his crime to secure his rise as Alpha. "I'll marry you," he had promised. "You'll be my Luna." But three years in prison left her with nothing but his cold rejection. "For the good of the pack, you'll stay hidden," Adonis said flatly, his eyes void of the warmth she once knew. "The ceremony will proceed with a stand-in Luna. You should understand." On the day of the Luna wedding, locked away in a lavish room, Melissa overheard mocking laughter outside. "She's so devoted," a groomsman jeered. "Adonis could ask her to disappear, and she'd thank him!" Fury ignited her. She broke free, storming into the grand hall just as the vows began. "Melissa!" Adonis roared, striding toward her. "Stop this madness! We ended years ago. Don't degrade yourself like this!" He turned to the pack, his voice cutting. "She's nothing but a desperate ex, clinging to the past. Ignore her." Wine splashed across her dress, mocking laughter filling the room. Just as Melissa faltered, a deep voice silenced the chaos. "Melissa," it growled, smooth and commanding. The crowd parted as Lucas, the Alpha of the Stone Pack, stepped forward. "She's everything you never deserved,"

Chapter 4

Adonis flinched, guilt flickering in his eyes, but it was gone in an instant. His face hardened, and his voice turned icy. "Enough," he barked. "You've had your say. Now, get out." I stood there, the words choking in my throat, as his men snickered. Tears fell, but I wiped them away. "Keep your title. Keep your fake Luna. But remember this," "When your world falls apart, I'll be the one laughing." As his men jeered and taunted, I turned on my heel, the sting of their laughter following me. "I'm here to attend my own wedding. Why should I be sad?" My voice was cold, detached. Adonis froze for a moment, then his face twisted with barely concealed fury. The powerful Alpha of the Moonblade Pack wasn't used to being challenged, especially not by me-his discarded mate. "Mellisa," he said, his tone dripping with false concern, "I've warned you about showing up here. Are you trying to ruin everything?" I scoffed, stepping closer. "Worried I'll spill your little secret? That the mighty Alpha Adonis once drove drunk, caused a crash, and left his mate to rot in prison for him?" His jaw clenched. "I did it for us! You agreed to this-because you loved me!" "I agreed because I was stupid," I snapped. "You promised me that when I returned, we'd be together, that I'd be your Luna. But instead, you found someone else and locked me away like a dirty secret." Adonis's hand shot out, grabbing my wrist. He tried to maintain his calm facade, but his eyes burned with frustration. "Don't do this now. You want to attend the ceremony? Fine. Watch from the shadows, but don't embarrass yourself further." "Embarrass myself?" I laughed bitterly. "You think I care about appearances anymore? You threw me away the moment I wasn't convenient for you." Adonis's beta, Cole, stepped forward, a smirk playing on his lips. "Come on, Mellisa. You had it good. Three years in a cushy cell while Adonis built this pack into something great. He even found a Luna who actually fits the role. You should be thanking him." I yanked my arm free, my voice rising. "Thanking him? For stealing my freedom? For abandoning me when I needed him most?" Cole lit a cigarette, blowing smoke in my face. "You're ungrateful. If I were you, I'd be worshipping him for even keeping you around." Adonis glared at him, but he didn't defend me. Of course not. I wasn't worth defending anymore. "Enough, Mellisa," Adonis said, his voice sharp. "Go home. I'll mark you after the ceremony-make it official. Isn't that what you wanted all along?" His words were a knife to my chest, but before I could respond, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen, and his expression faltered for a fraction of a second. Curious, I snatched the phone from his hand before he could stop me. The message glowed on the screen: "My love, have you left yet? Is that foolish ex of yours causing trouble again? Hurry, I can't wait to be your Luna. "
