Chapter 2

Gavin’s name flashed on the screen, vibrating against the restaurant table.

I pressed the ignore button. The screen went black.

"Change of plans, David," I said, standing up and grabbing my purse. "Keep the champagne."

"Ma'am?" the waiter asked, his eyes wide.

"Have a good night."

I walked out of the restaurant and flagged down a taxi.

"Penthouse on 5th," I told the driver.

"Rough night?" he asked, glancing at me in the rearview mirror.

"My husband is having dessert without me. I need to catch him before he finishes."

"Right away, lady."

The drive took exactly twelve minutes.

Five years of dating. Three years of marriage. We were the golden couple of our social circle, the pair everyone envied.

I unlocked the heavy oak door of our penthouse.

A black silk tie rested on the marble console table.

A pair of red stilettos lay overturned on the rug.

A black lace bra dangled from the hallway sconce.

"Size seven," I muttered, staring at the unfamiliar shoes. I wore an eight.

My stomach dropped. I accepted the reality right then. The audio on the phone wasn't a sick joke. He brought a stranger into our home.

I moved down the hall. The thick carpet muted my steps.

Our bedroom door was cracked open. A sliver of warm yellow light cut across the dark hardwood floor.

This room held my best memories. We spent our first night as a married couple in that bed. We planned our future within those walls.

Now, I stood outside like a ghost.

I stopped at the crack and peered inside.

Gavin had a woman pinned to the mattress. Her blonde hair splayed across my pillows.

She wore a pale blue silk nightgown.

My nightgown. I bought that silk piece in Paris during our honeymoon.

"Kiss me," the woman demanded, grabbing the back of his neck.

Gavin smashed his mouth against hers. Their tongues tangled greedily.

He tore his lips away and grabbed the hem of the nightgown, shoving it up to her waist.

"Look at this fucking pussy," Gavin growled, staring between her legs. "It's so wet for me."

"Fuck me, Gavin," the woman begged. "Put your cock inside me."

"I'm going to ruin your cunt, Celeste."

Celeste. That was her name.

He unzipped his pants and freed himself.

"Do you want my cock?" he asked, rubbing the tip directly against her clit.

"Yes! Shove it in. Fuck my pussy."

Gavin thrust his hips forward, burying himself deep inside her.

Celeste screamed, her nails digging into his bare shoulders.

I watched my husband fuck another woman on my sheets. My fingernails dug into my palms. My jaw locked tight, then slowly unclenched.

I didn't shed a single tear. A cold, empty smile stretched across my face.

"Fuck, Celeste," Gavin grunted, pulling out and slamming back in. "You take my cock so well."

"Am I better than your wife?" she taunted, wrapping her bare legs around his waist.

"Don't even talk about Iris," he sneered, thrusting harder.

"Why? Is she boring?"

"She's a fucking corpse in bed."

His words struck my chest like a physical blow.

"She has no passion," Gavin continued, slapping Celeste's thigh. "She's plain. She's vanilla. She just lies there."

"Then why did you marry her?" Celeste whined.

"Because she was safe. But you..." He gripped her hips, increasing his pace. "You're a fucking dirty slut. You beg for my cock."

"I do," she moaned. "I need you to fuck me raw. Stretch my pussy out."

"I'm going to fuck you until you can't walk," he promised.

Skin slapped against skin. The sound echoed off the bedroom walls, loud and vulgar.

He pulled almost completely out, then drove his cock back in to the hilt.

Celeste shrieked, her back arching off the mattress.

"Look at my tits bouncing," she panted.

"I see them," Gavin growled. "I want to suck your nipples."

He leaned down, taking a nipple into his mouth. He bit down hard.

"Fuck! Yes! Bite me!" she screamed. "Show your boring wife what real passion looks like."

"Iris doesn't know how to take a cock like this," he sneered, his hips pistoning like a machine. "She's completely flat. I feel absolutely nothing with her."

"Then fuck me harder. Punish my cunt."

"I'm hitting your cervix. Do you feel that?"

"Yes. Fuck, yes. Wreck my cunt."

"Say you love my cock."

"I love your fucking cock, Gavin. I love it."

"Tell me you love me," Celeste demanded, her voice high and desperate.

"I love you," Gavin said, his tone thick with heavy lust. "I love fucking your wet pussy. I love you, Celeste."

Those three words severed whatever thread remained between us.

He didn't just want her body. He gave her the words that belonged to me.

"Cum for me, Gavin. Fill my cunt with your cum."

"Take all of it, you fucking whore."

He drove his cock into her one last time and froze. A loud groan ripped from his throat.

I watched his body shudder. Utter disappointment settled deep in my bones.

He was pathetic. They both were.

I pulled my phone out of my purse. I opened the camera app.

I aimed the lens squarely through the gap in the door, framing them perfectly on the bed.

I tapped the screen.

*Snap.*

The shutter sound was sharp.

Worse, I forgot to turn off the flash. A bright burst of white light illuminated the dark hallway.

Gavin snapped his head toward the door.

"Who the fuck is out there?" he barked.
