After Beckett Blackwood Rescued His Beloved Intern Girlfriend From a Fire
Chapter 1
: Stuck at Eighteen
After Beckett Blackwood rescued his precious intern girlfriend from a fire, he suffered brain damage, leaving his memory stuck at the age of eighteen.
That was when he promised to give me the best of everything.
We hadn't yet reached the point of our love turning sour, of growing tired of the sight of each other. He hadn't cheated on me yet. Back then, his eyes would light up whenever he looked at me, and he was always so clingy.
Yet I pushed him away without a second thought, coldly stating the truth. "Beckett Blackwood, we divorced two years ago."

A fire broke out at Blackwood Corporation. Beckett Blackwood rushed into the blaze to save Tia Thorne and was hit on the head by a falling light fixture. When he woke up, he started clamoring to see me.
It was almost laughable.
We hadn't spoken a word to each other since he cheated on me with Tia Thorne and we divorced two years ago. The only updates I ever got were rumors about how sweet and loving their relationship was.
I had no intention of seeing him, but Tia Thorne herself came to beg me.
Beckett's accident had clearly hit her hard. Her eyes were red and swollen, and she looked utterly haggard. Swallowing her pride, she said to me, "Please, go see him. He's refusing treatment until you do."
I had to stop myself from laughing out loud. Curious, I followed her to the hospital. I wanted to see just what kind of stunt Beckett Blackwood was pulling now.
I could hear Beckett Blackwood shouting before I even reached the room. "I want to see Genevieve Sterling! I want to see her!"
I frowned as I stepped into the room. Fixing my gaze on Beckett Blackwood, I said sarcastically, "What do you want to see me for? To let me pay my last respects?"
"Genevieve Sterling!" Tia Thorne snapped.
I scoffed. I had no interest in taking another step inside, so I just leaned against the doorframe with my arms crossed, staring at Beckett Blackwood.
Beckett Blackwood sat on the bed in a hospital gown, his head wrapped in thick bandages. He whipped his head around at the sound of my voice, and the moment he saw me, his eyes lit up. "Genna!"
I froze, goosebumps breaking out across my skin.
I couldn't remember the last time I'd heard that affectionate nickname come from Beckett Blackwood's lips.
The soft, tender "Genna" of our youth had been replaced by an increasingly cold "Genevieve Sterling."
