Chapter 67

Aria looks up to the sky and sees the dark clouds gathering as if even the heavens are preparing to mourn her life.

The omega closes her eyes and silently pray for her Kiana’s protection.

Meanwhile, Alex in the safe house is beaming upon receiving the message from the driver who's now bringing Aria to where they are.

Her eyes were practically sparkling with excitement with the thought that in less than a day, she would finally be able to eliminate all the hindrances to finally get Cyrus.

"Hey you Cole, take the old lady away. We don't need another dead body scattered in the warehouse. Throw her somewhere far away from here." Alex said with an evil grin because to be honest, she really hated the old omega who only knows how to embarrass her in front of Kiana and Cyrus.

If she had more time, she would like to kill her herself too.

The man Cole is the latest addition to the private security of Julius so Alex knows he could do the job too.

The tall alpha nods at her and without saying a word, he grabs Felicia’s hair before he drags her away from Kiana who is very oblivious to what is happening because she is busy playing hide and seek with Rina.

When the other alpha female notices that is being dragged away, she calmly tells Kiana that she needs a short break.

Rina gave a toy to distract the little girl before he walks towards Alex who's now smiling ear to ear.

"Hey Lexi, what's up? Where's that guy taking Felicia?" Rina asked with furrowed brows because to be honest, she's not quite happy how the man was holding her.

Alex grins at her while pouring a drink to two glasses. She gave the other a glass of wine before she spoke.

"Rina oh my Rina Tonight is the night, I can finally have him. Cyrus would finally realize that he doesn't need a fated mate because I am here. He will finally come to me now." Alex said before raising her hand with the drink as if gesturing to Rina for a toast.

Rina accepted the invitation and raised her glass to cheer with her friend even though she is still confused about what's really going on.

When Alex finally finished the red liquid from her crystalline glass, she turns to her with a wicked grin.

"Rina, I can finally kill Aria and that little brat right there. And when they're both gone, Cyrus will finally see me. Dad will finally be proud of me because I am going to be the future Prime Minister's new wife! How amazing is that right?" Alex says with so much excitement that  she missed the look of shock that crosses Rina’s  face.

Rina swallows because she has no idea that Alex was actually planning to kill their old friend and the little girl who's now sleeping peacefully on the sofa.

"Y-you're gonna kill them?"

"Well I don't actually need to do it myself Rina but I really wanna see them both die in front of me. I wouldn't want to miss it!" Alex says before pouring another drink in her glass.

Rina put down her glass on the side table and stared at the alpha. She could not believe how the sweet and kind Alex who helped her through the years turned into a monster because of the  way her parents raised her and because she is coveting someone who was never hers to covet in the first place.

She used to hear Alex’s father call  her friend ugly names. She knows how Alex was trying her best all his life to please her father; she doesn’t understand how her friends became so obsessed with Cyrus.

She feels like Alex is like a mouse trapped in a dead end and for her to be able to survive, she needs to nibble her way out through the hard wall.

"But Lexi, how will you do that? I mean, what if you get caught or---"

"Rina my darling and ever so naive friend,.. did you really think I did this all alone? I was not the one who brought the little brat here. Julius has my back so we don't have to worry my friend. I already have the blessing of my future father-in-law, besides Aria is already on her way here." Alex informs the other who is now starting to get nervous because of everything.

"Y-you already got Aria too? H-how? Isn't she with Cyrus? Wouldn't she---"

"Oh come on Rina! Of course I already took care of that. I don't know how that stupid omega managed to sneak away from Cyrus but she did and that is all that matters to me. I'm actually thinking of killing her little pup in front of her first before taking her life too. I mean, don't you think that would be fair enough so she could pay for the three years of tormenting me?" Alex asked as if she was not talking about life and death at all.

Rina gulps. The bitterness and jealousy of her friend turned into determination to eliminate Cyrus’s family so she could have a space in the pure blood alpha's life.

"Up to you Lex, uhmmmm just do whatever you want. I'm just here." Rina said, shrugging.

"That's what I love about you Rina, I know you always got my back." Alex smiled sweetly at her friend before going back to the mini bar.

Rina smiled back at the alpha female before she turned her back on her so she could go back inside the room where the little girl was silently playing.

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
