Alpha Reclaims Her Legacy Novel Cover

Alpha Reclaims Her Legacy

The library had always been my sanctuary in the Shadowridge Pack house. Tucked away in the corner with my swollen feet propped on a cushioned ottoman, I traced my fingers over the leather-bound volume of pack histories—a small comfort during my ninth pregnancy. The baby kicked softly inside me, a gentle reminder of what I'd lost eight times before. "Just a little longer," I whispered, rubbing my belly. "Stay strong, little one." My wolf, Luna, had been unusually quiet these past years. I'd grown accustomed to her silence, especially during pregnancies when the effort to protect our unborn pup seemed to drain her strength. But something felt different today. "Elena." Her voice suddenly echoed in my mind, sharper than I'd heard in years. I stiffened, nearly dropping my book. "Luna?" "Listen." Her command vibrated through me with unexpected force.

Chapter 2

The world spun in slow motion as I lay at the bottom of the embankment, pain radiating through every inch of my body. Above me, voices shouted in panic, but all I could focus on was the searing agony in my abdomen. My ninth pup—the only one left—was in danger.

"Stay still," Luna urged inside me. "Protect the pup."

Suddenly, a massive silver wolf burst through the trees, his powerful form cutting through the chaos. Augustus Gardner, Beta of the Nightstone Pack. He wasn't supposed to be here—this was Shadowridge territory.

He shifted instantly, his silver fur giving way to the imposing figure of a man. Without hesitation, he knelt beside me, his nostrils flaring as he inhaled deeply.

"Wolfsbane," he muttered, his voice low and urgent. "I can smell it beneath your injuries."

His eyes met mine, and something passed between us—recognition, understanding. I'd known Augustus since childhood, when he served as my father's Beta. But now, in this moment of crisis, I saw something different in his gaze.

"Augustus," I whispered, my voice breaking. "They're trying to kill me. Again."

He nodded once, his jaw tightening. Before I could say more, he stood and faced the gathering crowd of Shadowridge wolves.

"As Beta of the allied Nightstone Pack," he announced, his voice carrying the weight of authority, "I'm taking Elena Collins to our healer for specialized treatment."

Nolan pushed through the crowd, his face a mask of concern that didn't reach his eyes. "That's not necessary. Our pack hospital—"

"Is not equipped for wolfsbane poisoning," Augustus cut him off, his tone leaving no room for argument. He physically blocked Nolan's approach, his broad shoulders forming a barrier between us.

I watched Nolan's expression flicker—frustration, anger, and beneath it all, fear. He knew what Augustus was implying.

"Augustus," I pleaded softly, "please."

Something in my voice must have reached him. Without another word, he scooped me into his arms and headed toward the forest edge where a Nightstone vehicle waited.

---

The healing room in Nightstone territory was unlike anything in Shadowridge. Sunlight streamed through large windows, illuminating herbs and healing crystals arranged on shelves along the walls. But all I could focus on was the elderly woman examining me with gentle hands.

"Remarkable," Thalia murmured, her fingers tracing the barely visible veins of wolfsbane poisoning on my wrist. "The fall should have killed you both."

"Both?" I echoed, my heart stopping.

She smiled gently. "Your pup, child. He's alive."

A sob escaped me before I could stop it. "My baby survived?"

"Thanks to Augustus's quick thinking," Thalia confirmed. "He administered the counter-agent immediately when he found you. But..." Her expression grew serious. "The wolfsbane exposure was significant. This wasn't an accident, was it?"

I shook my head, tears flowing freely now. "They've been poisoning me for years. All my pregnancies... eight pups gone..."

Augustus stood by the window, his back to me, shoulders rigid with tension. When he turned, his eyes glowed with a silver-blue light that took my breath away.

"I've suspected something was wrong," he admitted quietly. "But I couldn't prove it."

Luna stirred within me, suddenly alert. "Look at him," she whispered. "Really look."

For the first time, I noticed the way Augustus's wolf responded to mine—how his scent seemed to call to something deep inside me. Not the artificial pull I'd felt with Nolan, but something primal and true.

"Elena," Augustus said softly, crossing the room to kneel beside my bed. "What they've done to you... I'm so sorry."

The dam broke inside me. Years of grief, betrayal, and rage poured out as I collapsed into his arms. He held me tightly, his heartbeat steady against my ear.

"I don't know what to do," I confessed between sobs. "They'll never stop."

Augustus's arms tightened around me. "We'll make them stop."

---

Three days passed in a blur of planning and healing. My body recovered quickly under Thalia's care, but my mind raced with possibilities and dangers.

"We need evidence," Augustus insisted as we sat in the secure room he'd prepared for me. "Pack law would favor Nolan's word over yours—especially if they claim you're hysterical with pregnancy hormones."

I nodded grimly. "They'd say I imagined everything."

Augustus spread a map of Shadowridge territory on the table between us. "The diplomatic visit next week provides our opportunity. I can install recording devices in their main buildings while distracting Nolan with alliance discussions."

"Then we make me disappear," I said, the words tasting bitter on my tongue. "Let them think they've won."

Augustus's eyes met mine, concern evident in their depths. "It's dangerous, Elena. If they discover you're alive before we have enough evidence..."

"They won't," I promised, a new steel entering my voice. "I've survived them nine times already."

As we finalized our plans, Luna stirred restlessly within me. "He's our true mate," she whispered. "Not Nolan. Never Nolan."

I glanced at Augustus, noting how his wolf responded to mine, how naturally he protected me without trying to control me. For the first time since discovering the betrayal, hope flickered in my chest—dangerous, fragile hope for a future I'd thought impossible.

But first, I had to let Nolan believe he'd finally won.

The familiar antiseptic scent of the pack hospital greeted me as I pushed through the glass doors, my heels clicking against the polished floors with a rhythm that had become as routine as breathing. Three years of monthly visits, three years of hope dwindling with each negative test result, each sympathetic shake of Dr. Helena's head. I adjusted my purse strap and headed toward the fertility wing, my wolf stirring restlessly beneath my skin. Luna, my inner wolf, had been unusually agitated lately, though I couldn't pinpoint why. Perhaps she sensed my growing desperation, the weight of pack expectations that seemed to press heavier with each passing month. Blood Moon – Story Description Blood Moon is a dark, thrilling tale of forbidden attraction, supernatural rivalry, and the fine line between predator and prey. Set in the seemingly ordinary Silver Hollow College, the story unfolds in a world where vampires and werewolves secretly coexist alongside humans, each hiding their true powers while battling their own instincts, rival clans, and the pressures of legacy. In this shadowed world, every glance can hide a threat, every conversation can carry hidden meaning, and every full moon can unleash the beast within. At the heart of the story are Catrine Nella, a powerful young vampire, and Edwardo Zee, a disciplined yet conflicted werewolf. Catrine is sharp, cunning, and deadly, raised under the constant pressure of her ambitious step-sister who insists she feed on human blood to grow stronger. Catrine's natural talents in both magic and combat make her a force to be reckoned with, yet she struggles with morality, identity, and her own desire for control. Edwardo, on the other hand, is torn between his instincts as a wolf and the manipulations of his ruthless step-brother, who demands that he become a killer to claim alpha status. Edwardo wants to be a true alpha, not through bloodshed, but by protecting others and leading with honor-an ambition that sets him apart from his family and makes him both a target and a misfit among his kind. The story begins with a violent, electrifying encounter between Catrine and Edwardo in the forest during the full moon. Both are drawn by their own impulses-Catrine performing a vampire ritual, Edwardo struggling to control the wolf within-and the resulting clash is fierce, brutal, and unforgettable. This first meeting ignites a dangerous rivalry, with each recognizing the other's extraordinary abilities while also sensing something forbidden and magnetic between them. Though enemies by instinct and heritage, the connection they forge amidst conflict sets the stage for a tension-filled enemies-to-lovers narrative that drives the series forward. As the story unfolds, Silver Hollow College becomes a battlefield not just of physical strength but of intellect, cunning, and emotional power. Catrine and Edwardo test one another constantly-through subtle glances in class, tense encounters in crowded hallways, and increasingly dangerous confrontations in the forest. Each battle pushes them further, revealing vulnerabilities and strengths, and slowly transforms their relationship from animosity into fascination, grudging respect, and eventually, desire. Amidst this, both characters are confronted with the pressures of their families. Catrine's step-sister threatens her with weakness if she does not feed on human blood, while Edwardo's step-brother pressures him toward ruthless dominance, creating a constant tension that challenges their morality and tests the limits of their powers. At its core, Blood Moon is a story about choice and identity. It explores the struggle between instinct and conscience, power and restraint, hatred and attraction. It examines what it means to be strong-not just physically, but emotionally and morally-in a world where strength often comes at the cost of humanity. Through fast-paced action, supernatural intrigue, and the slow-burning, dangerous pull between Catrine and Edwardo, the story blends romance, suspense, and fantasy into a gripping narrative. It is a saga of blood and moonlight, of predators and secrets, of rivalry and passion, and of two young supernatural beings whose lives are forever intertwined by fate, desire, and the power of the Blood Moon.
