Chapter 5

Aurora:

I ran my brush through my hair after taking a shower, making sure to get the tangles off it before drying it with the towel.

I planned on leaving it to dry naturally, but a towel would always help me not get my clothes soaked, and judging by the fact that I would be meeting Dante, or need I say, Alpha Dante, in an hour, I guessed that taming my curls would be somewhat necessary.

Applying my hair cream, I gently ran my fingers through my hair, spreading it evenly before turning to my closet, deciding what to wear. The bedroom was already a mess, and knowing that I had to clean it up when I was back, I couldn’t help but dread the night already.

I didn’t even know where he planned for us to meet; therefore, I couldn’t decide on what to wear and have been sitting in my white robe for the past twenty minutes. That didn’t bother me much, though, I had used that time to apply my makeup and get my hair done. The makeup I applied was lighter than the one I usually applied when in business, but then again, I was mostly trying to seduce these men into giving me the information that I needed.

My heart still ached at what happened with Aiden, but keeping myself somewhat busy stopped me from having another breakdown, and to my luck, that something just happened to be Dante, a mate who I did not expect to find.

The phone vibrated, and despite hoping that it was Aiden, I was well aware that it would be Dante, sending me the location. My heart dropped to my stomach when I realized that he was taking me to one of the fanciest restaurants in the city. I had been there a month back to meet up with a man for Giovanni, but that was the ONLY time I’ve been there.

Settling to just reading the message without sending a reply. I walked to my closet and searched for the right dress for the night. Most of those who went there were either business men or dons, and of course, their women, whether wives or mistresses.

I looked at a new dress that I got last month, it was a custom made, a gift from Giovanni. I never got around to wearing it, but it seemed like tonight would be the right night for it.

Pulling it out of the closet, I smiled at its sight. The dress was an aqua blue, long dress. The slit on its right side reached my mid thigh, and the back, despite being somewhat exposed, was covered with a few crystals on its edges, giving it a sparkle as I walked. The top of the dress exposed the valley of my breasts enough to pump my boobs up, but not enough to make me look like some cheap woman.

I put it on and matched the dress with my glass slippers. Call me a fairytale princess, but these were the first heels that I got for myself, and I couldn’t help but feel thankful at that very moment for having my nails done at the salon two days ago.

Taking a look at myself, I smiled, and put on some nude lipstick, one more touch to the makeup I had on, I was glad to be ready.

I picked up my phone and ordered myself a cab before heading back to my closet to get myself a scarf. There was no way that I was going to get on the bus looking like this, and knowing the bunch of weirdos that could be on the streets at night, I preferred not waiting for a cab like I did the other night.

I wrapped the scarf around my body before turning to face the mirror, smiling in satisfaction at my reflection. My heart skipped a beat at the idea of me being around him looking like this, and the low purr that my wolf let out told me that she too wanted to at least try to catch her mate’s attention. My phone rang, letting me know that the cab had arrived, and taking one final glance at myself, I turned to leave the bedroom.

“Let’s see what you have for us, Alpha Dante, shall we?”

************************************

“You’re here early” Dante said, checking his phone as he took a drink of his scotch.

“I figured that the earlier I got here, the better” I said, putting my purse on the table before taking a seat in front of him. The receptionists outside already took my scarf when I first entered the restaurant.

“I have to admit, I didn’t really expect you to look…” he said, searching for the right word “decent”

His word had caught me off guard, and looking down at my empty plate, I couldn’t help the frown that formed on my face “I do know how to dress myself, thank you very much”

“Considering that you’ve been working at this for a while now…”

“What do you want from me, Dante?” I asked, raising my face to look at him. My green eyes met his, and I couldn’t help the clench that I felt in my chest at his resentment; however, I was sure to keep a straight face so as not to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he was hurting me.

"I want the entire show" he said, keeping his eyes on mine. His eyes darkened as he glared at me.

"I beg your pardon?" I asked, frowning in confusion as I straightened in my chair to process what he was saying, preventing myself from shying back in my seat as my heart raced under his intense glare.

"I want the entire fucking show, get your information from me, talk to me, seduce me, sleep with me if you have to. I want to see how you work" he said, crossing his arms over his chest "only then would I decide whether or not to keep you in the job"
