Nadia's courier delivered it at dawn—a sealed envelope, unmarked, the kind that wouldn't raise questions if intercepted. I took it to the Luna quarters and locked the door before opening it.

The report was twelve pages. Clinical language. Charts. Chemical compound breakdowns. I read it twice.

The wolfsbane signature in my system wasn't environmental. It was chronic, deliberate, calibrated to a specific dosage designed for long-term administration. The compound variant had a name I didn't recognize—something pharmaceutical, something that required precision to manufacture. Nadia had highlighted a section in the middle: "Known effect on Alpha-blooded wolves: permanent suppression of shift capacity and aura projection. Full reversal possible only if source is removed and energetic bond tether is severed."

I sat very still.

Alpha-blooded.

The words sat on the page like a diagnosis I'd been waiting five years to receive. My wolf had never been weak. She'd been drugged. And the mate bond—the sacred gift I'd believed in with every fiber of my being—had amplified the suppressant's potency, turning Alexander's claim into a biological cage.

I didn't cry. I opened a new record sheet and began documenting Margaret Osei's access to my food since the mating ceremony. Breakfast trays. Formal dinners. The herbal tea she'd recommended for "Luna nerves" that I'd drunk every night for three years. I wrote it all down in neat handwriting. Dates. Frequencies. Witnesses who'd seen her prepare meals.

The bond pulsed faintly in my chest. Alexander was still three states away, distracted by a tribunal that didn't exist. He couldn't feel what I was doing. Not yet.

I added the blood-work analysis to the evidentiary file and locked it in the writing desk's hidden drawer.

On Day 9, I reached out to the she-wolves.

Nadia's network made the contact possible—quiet channels between healers, the kind of communication that moved through allied packs without leaving official traces. I framed it as a Lycan Council evidentiary inquiry. Formal. Legal. Nothing personal.

Two responded immediately. One provided written testimony the same day—dates, locations, the scent Alexander had left on her wrist after a formal alliance dinner. She'd thought it was accidental. She'd been flattered.

The fourth was Lena Hargrove.

She resisted at first. Her message came back defensive, almost angry. The marks were mutual, she insisted. Consensual. Alexander had been networking alliances. She'd understood what it meant.

I sent her the Lycan Council's legal definition of temporary scent-bonding outside a mated pair. Three paragraphs. Clinical language. The kind that left no room for interpretation.

She read it.

Her testimony arrived the following morning. Shorter than the others. Angrier. But documented.

I added it to the file. Four she-wolves. Four marks. Four counts of infidelity that would compound under Lycan law into full territorial forfeiture.

Alexander had built his own cage. He just didn't know it yet.

On Day 12, Arianna came for the Luna quarters.

I heard her before I saw her—footsteps in the corridor, too confident, too loud. Then her voice, directing two omega attendants to carry her belongings inside. She was already giving orders as if the space belonged to her.

I was seated at the Luna's writing desk. I didn't move.

The door opened. Arianna stepped inside with a garment bag draped over one arm and a satisfied smile on her face. The omegas followed, carrying boxes. She glanced around the room—assessing, claiming—and her gaze landed on me.

Her smile didn't falter. "Serena," she said warmly. "I thought you'd already moved to the guest wing."

I looked at her. I didn't stand. I didn't speak.

She gestured to the omegas. "Start with the closet. The former Luna's things can go into storage."

The omegas hesitated. They looked at me. I still didn't move.

Arianna crossed to the closet and hung the garment bag on the door—a dress, expensive, the kind she'd wear to a formal ceremony. She smoothed the fabric with one hand, then turned back to me. "Alexander will be home in a few days," she said. "It's time to make this official."

I set down my pen. I folded my hands on the desk. And I began naming the she-wolves.

"Lena Hargrove. September fourteenth. Alliance dinner at the Crescent Moon Pack. Alexander placed a temporary scent-mark on her wrist that lasted six days."

Arianna's smile froze.

"Isla Brennan. November third. Trade negotiation in the northern territories. Mark lasted four days."

The color began draining from Arianna's face.

"Celeste Vega. January ninth. Formal banquet. Seven-day mark, visible to her entire pack."

I kept my voice level. Measured. The tone I'd used as a Healer delivering terminal diagnoses.

"Maya Thornhill. March twenty-second. Private meeting. Five-day mark."

Arianna's hand dropped from the dress. She stared at me.

"Each mark," I continued, "constitutes infidelity under Lycan Council law. Compounding violations trigger full pack-territory forfeiture. Alexander doesn't just lose his mate bond. He loses Silverfang."

The room was silent. The omegas had stopped moving. One of them had set down a box and was backing slowly toward the door.

Arianna's mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. "You're lying," she said. Her voice was thin.

I reached into the desk drawer and pulled out a single sheet of paper. Lena's testimony. I set it on the desk between us.

"The Lycan Council has documentation from all four," I said quietly. "Signed. Dated. Witnessed."

Arianna's face went white.

I stood slowly. I walked to the door and opened it. Derek was in the corridor—he'd been listening. I met his eyes.

"Escort Arianna beyond pack borders," I said. "Immediately."

Derek stepped inside. His face was carefully blank, but I saw the shift in his posture—the way his weight settled differently, the way his gaze moved past Arianna to me. He'd just made a choice about where his loyalty belonged.

Arianna's voice rose. "You can't do this! Alexander will—"

"Alexander," I interrupted, "is three states away at a tribunal that will take another eighteen days to resolve. By the time he returns, the bond will be severed and the forfeiture will be active. You have no authority here."

Derek's hand closed around Arianna's arm. She jerked away, stumbling. The dress she'd hung in the closet swayed on its hanger.

"This is my position!" she screamed. "I earned this!"

I looked at her. I felt nothing.

"You earned proximity," I said quietly. "That's all you ever had."

Derek pulled her toward the door. She fought him—twisting, clawing, screaming my name like a curse. The omegas scattered. I watched from the doorway as Derek hauled her down the corridor, her voice echoing off the stone walls.

She was still screaming when they reached the pack borders.

I closed the door. I walked back to the writing desk. The dress still hung in the closet—expensive fabric, carefully chosen, already moved in as if the space had been hers.

I left it there.

Let the pack see it when they came to collect her things. Let them remember she'd brought a formal dress before the Luna had even left.

I pressed my fingertips against my wrist and opened a new record sheet.

Eighteen days left.
