Chapter 4

"What about the drink? I haven't paid yet," I said as he led me away from the bar, with my  hands clasped tightly in his. "Don't worry baby girl, it has been taken care of," he said, without even glancing back. We walked across the dance stage. I turned to find Tracy in a full-blown make out session with the blonde man, as she ground on his lap. As if she felt my stare on her, she turned to face me. Her drunk face in a questioning look.  I threw a flirty wink at her to ease her worry and she smirked at me, going back to tangling her lips with the man's again. We slipped through some kind of back door, into a hall of many rooms. "You must really come here all the time," I said, wanting to ease off the awkward tension. My head was already fuzzy from the alcohol and heat. I inwardly cursed when I remembered Tracy said this club just opened. "I own this place," he replied casually. My eyes widened. Holy shit, I thought. I must have really landed a big fish.  That absolutely explained the barman's expression earlier, and also why he had a back room here, I thought anxiously. He stood in front of a red door, pulled some kind of key from his pocket and twisted the lock. He paused, as if sensing my anxiousness and turned to look at me. "Relax baby girl," he said. One word-and that was more than enough to make my heart spike up.  This time, definitely not from anxiousness but from curiosity of what more sensations this beautiful man can ignite in me. His beautiful voice was enough to send puddles in my g-string pant, along with the ease with which he called me that pet name. Everything in me, bridged the edge of my curiosity, leaving me wanting to know more about him. But then, I had to remind myself again, that it's just a one night stand and nothing more. The door swung open, and my lips parted into a loud gasp. A massive bed dominated the center, covered by deep red sheets almost the color of blood.  Big oversized pillows were lined at the sides. The thought of being spread on that bed like a meal, sent an unsettling thrill through me.  "What's this place?" I asked, still reeling in shock as I took in the scene before me. Heat crawled in my skin when I took in an  iron-looking post that stood at the corner with leather cuffs on each end.  Before I could tear my eyes away from them, something caught my attention, leather flogger. Hanging neatly on some kind of hook on the wall-many of them with different colors-looking hard enough to inflict pain, and soft enough to bring pleasure. My teeth sunk into the soft texture of my lips, only to choke as my eyes landed on an open cupboard where different sizes of dildos were displayed, some so large. I looked away for a second, my cheeks flaming red in embarrassment, when I thought of where they'll go. "Are you scared baby girl?" His husky voice whispered in my ears from besides me. His hot breath fanned my face, making me jump on my toes unintentionally. I turned to face him, staring into those deep pools of green hues-as if trying to penetrate deep into my soul. He looked at me, like he expected to find that I have chickened out, but unfortunately, I have already made up my mind a long time ago. "Not at all sir," I replied timidly, watching the way his lips tipped up slightly. "Good girl," he praised. And damn if that did not make me clench my thighs together again to get some friction. His dark eyes took my form in. They lingered on my face, then dipping to the small cleavage that I left on display as his eyes flared. "Strip!" He commanded. My breath caught as I stared at him with wide eyes. "Huh?" I asked, somewhat confused and shy. His lips tugged at my answer, as his gaze darkened. "Wrong answer baby girl, now you have to get punished," he growled darkly. A nervous sound slipped out of me as his words sounded funny to my ears. I let out an embarrassing snort, only to pause when I took in the seriousness in his face. I stammered on words, not knowing the right way to ask my question. I did not want to seem inexperienced for some reason, even though I was. "I thought we were going to kiss and..." the words trailed off my lips as he cut me off. He stepped close to me, his hands brushing over my throat lightly. "It seems I have to set some rules for how I do my things. I don't do soft," he said. His tone sounded low and dark. "No romance. No love-play. I fuck, and I do that hard and fast. But don't worry, I'll make sure you are wet enough,  and you experience your fair share of pleasures. But everything goes my way. "This is my play room baby girl, and when we are in here, everything happens by my rules," he continued, his voice echoing around the large room. "Rule number one : When I ask something of you-you are expected to reply with the term 'yes sir' or your safe word only. Failure to do so would attract punishment. Do you get what I am saying?" He growled, but not from anger.  No, none of that. I could see desire pooling at the depth of his eyes clearly. His voice held me captive with his mesmeric eyes, making me feel hypnotized to play by his game. "Do you understand me, baby girl?" He asked again, his voice dripping with something dark and promising, and it felt like the room had dropped degrees colder. "Yes sir," I answered softly. "Now strip off those clothes, before I tear them off you. While I savor every treacherous second an inch of your beautiful skin is revealed to me. But, I'm not a patient man, baby girl." "Yes, sir."

The crystal chandeliers of the Plaza Hotel screamed money, framing the wedding of Chelsea Grimes and Julian Davidson as the ultimate corporate merger. But as the officiant prepared to unite two of the city's most powerful dynasties, the heavy double doors didn't just open-they exploded inward. Gideon Combs stood in the wreckage, a man in a frayed trench coat and grime-caked boots, looking like a stain on a pristine canvas. He wasn't there to object; he was there to enforce a "Legacy Pact," coldly informing the bride that her debt to a dead man hadn't been fulfilled and she didn't get to walk away. In seconds, the ballroom turned into a butchery as Gideon dismantled elite bodyguards with nothing but a broken wine bottle, eventually sending the groom flying into a tower of shattering champagne glass. When the military arrived, the room expected a firing squad, but instead, a four-star General snapped a sharp salute to the "vagrant," calling him a national asset. My family, the Singletons, saw this as a threat rather than a salvation; when I chose to stand by Gideon, my own grandmother stripped me of my keys, my cards, and my inheritance, casting me out into the pouring rain. I couldn't wrap my head around why the world's most powerful men trembled at the mention of Gideon's mentor, or what secret was etched into the black iron ring on his finger. I had traded my billionaire lifestyle for a man who looked like a drifter but fought like a god, and I had no idea if he was my protector or my ultimate ruin. As we stood on the sidewalk with nothing but twelve dollars and the clothes on our backs, Gideon's phone buzzed with a half-million-dollar bounty already active on the dark web. He didn't flinch; he just looked at the shadows closing in and whispered. "Game on."

I was living as a ghost in a run-down trailer park, trying to outrun a past that would kill me if it ever caught up. I tried to defend myself with a cheap butcher knife, but Darius didn't just disarm me—he acquired me. He didn't just want my silence; he wanted total control. When I begged to check on my sick grandmother, he threw a manila envelope on the table filled with surveillance photos of her at her nursing home. "I own the board of that facility," he said, his voice cold as ice. "One call from me, and she dies alone on the street." He vetted my life in that trailer park down to my medical records and childhood diaries, convinced he had every lever of power needed to keep me obedient. He forced me into silk dresses and expected me to be his domestic pet, a quiet girl waiting for him to return from his world of shadows and blood. I played the part, letting him pull me into his lap and bury his face in my neck, pretending to be the broken girl he thought he’d bought. I watched his security cameras, calculated his blind spots, and waited for the moment his exhaustion outweighed his instinct. Darius thinks he knows me because he saw where I lived, but he’s never been more wrong. His investigators found the pauper, but they completely missed the princess with an Ivy League degree and a family name that carries more weight than his illegal empire.
