Chapter 2
[LOL, does Thalia really think Levi stayed because he still likes her?]
[Spoiler alert: all four wolves are crazy about Sophia!]
[They left one behind just to look good since Thalia is still somewhat important. But if she messes with Sophia, she's done for!]
[They were just arguing in the group chat about who had to stay. Levi finally said he'd do it, and the others were so relieved!]
[The kind - hearted stand - in beats the arrogant Thalia. This plot is amazing!]
Levi drives me back to my huge penthouse apartment, where I live alone.
At the door, I face him. "Thanks for the drive. You should go now."
Levi laughs, his eyes shining. "Thalia, not even going to offer me a drink?"
I raise an eyebrow. "I thought you'd be dying to leave."
His smile gets wider, and there's a strange look in his eyes. "Why would you think that? Do you know something I don't?"
Ugh. Levi has always been the sneakiest wolf in the group.
I pour him a glass of water, and he sits on the couch, watching me.
"You look amazing in that dress," he says.
"Thanks." I flop onto the other couch, looking relaxed.
Levi spins the glass in his hand. "You don't believe Robert's stupid excuse, do you? Aren't you curious where they really went?"
I give him a sideways look. "Are you trying to tell me something?"
He puts the glass down, moves to sit right beside me, and leans in close, speaking softly. "Thalia, you want to know?"
[AHH, why is Levi getting so close to Thalia? Is he falling for her?]
[Relax, this is a stand - in romance story. The popular Thalia always gets some attention before the wolves fully fall for Sophia. Then they'll turn on Thalia for good-that's the exciting part!]
I lean back a bit. "No. It's getting late. You should probably go."
Levi stares at me, then gives a bitter smile. "You really don't care about us, do you?"
I shrug. "What you do is your business. I'm not nosy."
Just then, his phone rings. He answers it right in front of me.
"Levi, did you get Thalia home?" Robert's voice blares out.
"Yeah," Levi says, sounding bored.
"Great. We got here just in time-Sophia almost got bothered again. We're hanging out with her now. She told me to ask if you're coming. Dude, you're so calm, but Sophia really likes you. Gotta act hard to get, right?" Robert sounds teasingly jealous.
Levi looks at me, seeing my calm face. His eyes lose some of their light, and he says casually, "Sure, I'm on my way."
Before he leaves, he stops. "Three years away, and we're not chasing after you anymore, Thalia. Are you feeling a bit lost without us?"
I smile a little. "We all live our own lives. I've been doing just fine without you guys these past three years."
I finally meet the much - talked - about Sophia.
The top she - wolf from the Clayton family is throwing a birthday party, and because I just returned to Halcyon - pack, I'm warmly invited.
We're all in a fancy private room at an expensive lounge.
Sophia, wearing a waiter's uniform, moves around with the other staff, carrying trays of drinks and snacks.
"Hey, isn't that the she - wolf all the top wolves are crazy about? She's still working here?"
"She says she wants to earn her own money-she doesn't want to be some rich wolf's dependent mate."

Then he demanded the ultimate sacrifice: a forbidden ceremony that would transfer my entire life force to her. It was a death sentence.
"It means Francesca lives," he said, his eyes empty of the love he once had for me.
He shattered the wooden bird he carved for our anniversary, forced me to sign divorce papers, and promised to remarry me after I died for his fantasy.
Finally, he tied me to an altar and set it on fire.
As I burned, my four-year-old daughter screamed the truth-that Francesca was faking her illness. But Kane pushed her away, choosing his lie over our lives. He watched me die.
But when I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day he first told me Francesca was sick. This time, the only life I'll be saving is my own.

I came to ruin my ex.
I never meant to kneel for his father.
I came back to ruin Caleb Vane. I had a plan that was cold, sharp, and merciless.
But then I met Malric Vane.
The man doesn't flirt. He commands.
One glance and my legs trembled. One word and I was on my knees.
He's the Lycan every wolf fears.
The man no one touches.
And now I wake up in his bed,
spread wide, bite-marked, and dripping for more.
He says I wasn't born...I was made.
Made to obey.
Made to please him.
And the worst part?
He's right.
Because every time he calls me good girl,
I forget my revenge.
I just want to be ruined all over again.

Elara Vex had everything-a flawless ice core, the title of prodigy, and a place at the pinnacle of the High Tower. But in one brutal night, it was all ripped away. Her mentor tore the core from her chest. Her fiancé drove a sword through her back. Her own sister smiled as she bled out on the cold marble floor.
When Elara wakes, she's years in the past, mere hours before her core is scheduled to be stolen. This time, she won't be anyone's sacrificial lamb. She shatters her own core with forbidden blood magic and forges something far more terrifying in its place-a bottomless, ravenous Chaos Core that devours magic itself.
Now, branded a worthless cripple and cast into the deadly Abyss, Elara is pulled from the darkness by the outcasts of Elysium Academy-a school for heretics, psychopaths, and everything the Tower despises. Under the tutelage of a reclusive principal who knew her murdered mother, Elara will master her forbidden power and uncover the Tower's darkest secrets.
When the Five Academies Ranking Tournament arrives, Seraphina Vex stands in the arena, draped in white saintess robes, ready to claim ultimate glory. She doesn't know that a ghost from her past has clawed her way back from hell. She doesn't know that Elara is coming-and this time, the prodigal sister isn't asking for mercy. She's bringing chaos.

The captain is dead to the world. And I'm the only one holding the kill switch.
Ethan Carter, the "Glacier of Silvercrest," was the most feared Alpha to ever step onto the ice. Now, he's nothing but a shell-a broken, comatose legend trapped in his own body.
My life? It was supposed to be simple. Graduate, survive the pack's bottom-tier status, and pay off my father's ruinous blood-debts. Instead, the pack elders handed me a contract soaked in cold, hard malice: I am the designated "Stabilizer." My only job is to touch him, scent him, and keep his wolf from flatlining.
I thought I was just a glorified nurse. I didn't realize the Alpha was listening.
When Ethan finally wakes, he isn't the hero the Kingdom of Valeria remembers. He's a starving predator with amber eyes that burn holes through my defenses and a temperament that makes the frost in the mansion seem warm. He hates the bargain, he hates the pack, and-most dangerously-he hates the way his scent turns wild whenever I'm near.
He wants me out of his sight. I want to be out of his reach.
But in a pack built on secrets, someone is still trying to finish the job they started on his life. Now, the man who wants me gone is the only one who can protect me. And as the rink turns into a battlefield, I'm realizing the most dangerous thing about the Alpha isn't his temper... it's the fact that once he claims a mate, he doesn't know how to let go.
Frozen hearts are meant to shatter. But in the fire of this pack, we're both going to burn.

On my eighteenth birthday, the celestial pact hiding my aura finally expired. I stood on the rotting steps of the trailer, watching my foster family celebrate my eviction like they’d won the lottery. Brenda threw a liability waiver at me to sign, ensuring I’d never ask for a dime of their welfare checks again. Worse, her daughter Regina stood there smirking, flaunting the heirloom emerald bracelet she’d stolen from my secret stash—unaware it was a spiritual artifact soaked in fifty years of blood magic. "Consider it payment for room and board, freak," Regina sneered, forcing the silver band over her wrist. They thought they were discarding a burden. They didn't realize I was the only dam holding back a tidal wave of their own bad karma. As I signed the papers, voluntarily severing our ties, the air pressure plummeted. The bracelet began to constrict like a snake, turning Regina’s flesh a necrotic purple as the protection I offered vanished. Before they could scream, a matte black helicopter bearing the Sterling Industries crest descended onto the muddy lawn, blowing their plastic lawn chairs into the neighbor's yard. A man in a bespoke charcoal suit stepped out, ignoring the filth to bow before me. He looked at my terrified foster family and announced, "We are here to retrieve the Sterling heiress." I smiled at Regina, whose arm was already beginning to rot, and whispered, "Keep the bracelet. You'll need it to pay for the amputation."

In my past life, I was nothing more than a shadow to him.
The Alpha, cold and distant, kept me at arm's length.
He was obsessed with his so-called "white moonlight," an idealized image of someone who could never be mine.
I was never seen, never cared for. And in the end, it cost me everything.
My love for him-blind, foolish, unconditional-led to my death.
He never noticed my sacrifice, never saw how I withered in silence for him. The day I died, my love for him was all that remained, but it meant nothing.
I meant nothing.
But now.
Now I am reborn.
I stand before him, no longer the fragile, desperate woman he ignored.
I made him cuckolded.
