Chapter 1

My mate was drugged and trapped, tearing at the Lycan Princess’s clothes.

This time, I didn’t rush in to stop him, not like I did in my past life.

Back then, I was terrified he’d provoke the wrath of the Lycan Prince Marvin, known for his merciless nature.

I tried to intervene, but Gregory, poisoned and out of control, forced himself on me.

My reputation was ruined, and I became the laughingstock of the pack.

After we mated, my life was a nightmare.

Five years of marriage, seven pregnancies, and each time, I lost the child.

People whispered that I was promiscuous, that my body had been tainted by countless men before mating.

My parents, desperate to make my life bearable, used their influence to help Gregory climb the ranks, eventually making him a Gamma.

But on the day I went into labor, he and the Lycan Princess Nancy forced me to drink five doses of a potent healer’s concoction, leaving me weak and bleeding.

“If you hadn’t meddled back then, Nancy and I would have been mated by now. This is your punishment for ruining our bond!”

Then, right in front of me, he smothered the child I had just given birth to.

I died with tears of blood streaming down my face, my eyes wide with rage.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the moment he was drugged.

This time, I would make sure they got exactly what they wanted.

==============================

“Gregory, please… don’t…”

The Lycan Princess Nancy’s voice trembled with a mix of shame and arousal, her scent sharp and intoxicating, like a snake’s hiss slithering into my ears.

Inside the Moonlit Hall,

Gregory’s eyes were bloodshot, his clothes disheveled as he pressed Nancy against the wall.

Her designer dress, adorned with intricate patterns, was already torn.

“Luna!”

Miracle, my attendant, was frantic, tugging at my sleeve.

“We have to stop him!”

I watched the two figures tangled together,

then glanced at Miracle, who looked like she wished she could take Nancy’s place.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

Save who?

The woman who forced me to drink concoction after concoction to kill my unborn children?

Or the man who smothered my baby with his own hands?

“Gregory comes from a humble background. If he assaults the Lycan Princess tonight, the Lycan Prince Marvin will destroy him!”

“Luna! What are you waiting for?”

“Don’t you remember your father said Gregory’s late father was a friend of our family? He told you to look after Gregory!”

“If something happens to him, your father will be furious!”

Miracle’s voice was low but rapid, her words tumbling out in a rush.

She’d always had her eyes on Gregory,

hoping I would mate him so she could become his chosen mate.

In my past life, when I dragged myself, bleeding and broken, trying to crawl for help,

it was Miracle who pinned me down and dragged me back.

She stomped on my stomach, where blood was pooling,

and sneered, “After all these years, I’ve followed Gregory’s orders and fed you so many concoctions. How are you still able to conceive? You’re so disgusting!”

I clenched my fists,

fighting the urge to claw her right then and there.

“I’ll go in and try to stop him. You go to the front hall and bring my mother with some guards. Make sure no one else notices.”

Miracle’s eyes lit up with barely concealed excitement.

She nodded eagerly and sprinted off,

her steps so quick you’d think she was rushing to deliver news of a death in the family.

Just like in my past life.

This incident could have been kept quiet,

but Miracle brought all the pack’s elite to witness the scene.

All the high-ranking Lunas and their daughters

saw me half-naked, pinned down by Gregory.

My mother fainted on the spot.

My father, who had spent his life building a spotless reputation, was humiliated,

unable to hold his head up among his peers.

My sisters were all forced into low-status matings because of the scandal.

Since Miracle was so eager to help,

let her bring the entire pack to witness this spectacle.

And give my former mate the perfect opportunity to climb the social ladder.

The pestle felt heavy in my cramped, aching fingers. I brought it down hard against the dried yarrow root, grinding it into a fine powder. The Moonveil Pack’s Omega healing ward was little more than a dilapidated shack at the edge of the territory. It smelled constantly of cheap bleach, damp wood, and the bitter tang of medicinal herbs. But the smell I couldn't ignore today was the scent of my own fear. I stopped grinding and stared at the crumpled piece of paper resting on the edge of my scratched wooden counter. *Final Notice: Medical Termination and Eviction.* The words blurred as my eyes stung. My mother, Amy, was lying in the back room, her breathing shallow and rattling. The pack charged exorbitant fees for Omegas to receive even basic care, and I was out of time. If I didn't pay her medical debts by tomorrow morning, they would cut off her treatments and throw us out of the ward.

I stood frozen as the crimson liquid pooled at my feet, staining the pristine white marble of the ceremonial hall. The sacred wine meant to honor the Moon Goddess now dripped from my trembling fingers, the ceremonial chalice lying broken beside me. Silence descended upon the gathered pack members, their eyes boring into me with a mixture of pity and disdain. "You clumsy, pathetic excuse for a Luna," Alexander's voice cut through the silence, each word laced with venom. "Can you not even perform the simplest of duties without embarrassing this pack?" I looked up to meet his gaze, those piercing blue eyes I had once found so beautiful now cold with contempt. My wolf, Luna, whimpered deep within me, curling further into herself as she had done countless times over our three years of mating. "I-I'm sorry, Alpha," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "Vanessa bumped into me and—" "Don't you dare blame my true mate for your incompetence," Alexander snarled, his Alpha tone washing over me like a physical blow. Behind him, my sister's lips curved into a satisfied smile, her eyes glinting with triumph as she pressed herself closer to his side. "Of course not," I murmured, lowering my gaze as heat rushed to my cheeks.

The morning of my eighteenth birthday arrived with the same gray drizzle that had been falling for three days straight. I pressed my face against the cool window of our small cottage, watching droplets race down the glass like tears I refused to shed. Today was supposed to be different. Today was supposed to change everything. "Happy birthday, sweetheart." Dad's voice carried from the kitchen, rough with the chronic pain that never seemed to leave him anymore. I turned to find him leaning heavily against the doorframe, his left shoulder—the one that never healed properly after saving Alpha Axel—hanging at that familiar awkward angle. "Thanks, Dad." I managed a smile, though my stomach churned with anticipation and dread in equal measure. Eighteen. The age when every werewolf's inner wolf was supposed to emerge, when the transformation that defined our very existence should finally claim me. But as the hours crawled by, nothing happened.

During the ninety-ninth rogue attack on the Silver Moon Pack, the Beta, Omar Reyes, fled with ninety-nine chosen pack members. Leaving me tied to the bed. "You're my mate," he said coldly. "It's your duty to protect the pack." The rogues took me, torturing me for three days before dumping my broken body at a brothel. It was Fabian Turner, a Lycan Prince, who found me. He paid for my freedom, marked me as his mate, and punished the rogues who had hurt me. For three years, I believed in his love, in the gentle words he whispered to me. Until one day, I overheard Omar confronting him. "You’ve drained her wolf’s power enough, haven’t you, Your Highness?" Omar sneered. "Now, honor our agreement and let me have Kate." Fabian’s laugh was cold, cruel.

The kitchen was silent except for the scratch of my pen against paper. I hunched over the counter, carefully tallying our grocery receipts, making sure every cent was accounted for. Three years of marriage had taught me to be meticulous—Travis demanded nothing less. "Olivia." His voice sliced through my mind, cold and abrupt. "Mind-link." I flinched, my pen slipping and making a small ink blot on the ledger. Travis rarely mind-linked me during the day unless it was important—or he wanted something. "Yes, Travis?" I responded, trying to keep my mental voice steady. "I need you to transfer fifteen dollars and fifty cents to the pack treasury. Immediately." His tone was clipped, businesslike. "For what?" I asked, though I already knew better than to question him.

I stood at the edge of the Silvercrest Pack's moonlit courtyard, a flute of champagne untouched in my hand. The Grand Harvest Gala was in full swing, with string lights twinkling overhead and the scent of autumn flowers perfuming the air. Five years of playing the perfect Luna had taught me to maintain my composure regardless of the circumstances, and tonight would test those skills to their limits. My gaze drifted to the center of the courtyard where Marcus stood, tall and imposing in his tailored black suit. For anyone watching, he was the picture of Alpha strength and authority. Only I knew the hollowness behind that facade. "Attention, my pack," Marcus's voice boomed across the courtyard, silencing the chatter and music. His arm snaked possessively around Victoria's waist, pulling her close against his side. Her crimson dress clung to her curves, a stark contrast to my understated silver gown. "Tonight we celebrate another bountiful harvest," he continued, raising his glass.
