Chapter 6

Up red in colour and amazing golden colour high hill shoes.

I put on all the clothes and looked so beautiful and astonishing.

I wanted to ask her her name, but decided not to because she wouldn't understand that I do not know what I am doing, and I am not Irene.

"What does my baby call you?"

My question made her laugh.

"She is still a one-year-old baby. We just celebrated her one-year birthday last week. She isn't talking yet, but we are cool with each other." She said with a smile.

"So what do people call you here? I hope you are still the one who has been taking care of my baby?" I asked.

"Yes, I have been the one right from when you handed her over to me on the day you gave birth to her. My name still remains Elena."

I looked at her, opened my hands, and embraced her.

I got the name now, Elena. I have to play along with her to get information about so many things.

I made a move to start going back to the hall but she tapped me to sit down.

"It is not yet time, you will be invited specially. You should know the protocol as Luna."

I became so ashamed of myself. I told myself that I had messed up again and let things not spoil for me.

I carefully started looking around the room. The picture I saw looks exactly like me. I moved closer to the standing mirror, looked at the picture, and saw that we look alike.

That must be Irene, I concluded. Elena had gone out to perfect my invitation to the party organized for me.

My other challenge is what I would say in order not to embarrass Vince and his pack members.

So far he has shown that he is very happy to see his lost wife. Smiles all over his face.

A few people who came to show love and pleasantries were also wearing a smiling face.

How do I face this strange environment? I kept worrying about what I would say if I were asked to speak.

I am yet to understand myself completely. To me, I am in a strange land but have come to get liberated.

While I was standing before the mirror, I heard a sound like someone was running towards where I was.

I sat down to know what could be. It was Elena.

In two minutes your name will be mentioned. Get prepared to go. Don't forget you will address the crowd on your experience.

I was silent but she knew I was listening to her. She has already given me a clue about what is going to happen.

I will have to tell them my experiences when I was away. That's ridiculous. What I know I would tell anybody.

I decided to think deeply about the way I would present it. While I was meditating, I had the name Luna Irene. The wife of Alpha Vince.

The sound bite was on. Cool music was entering my ears.

I stood up and stepped out of the dressing room.

While I was about to enter the hall, the flower girls were throwing flowers at me. The hall's decoration was a match for what I was putting on

I looked at Vince's seat. No one was there. I got worried about where he must have gone.

The dancing steps were awesome and I was dancing too. Everyone was shaking their bodies until the Master of the Ceremony asked me to sit down.

I sat down. Vince wasn't still there yet. I called Elena's attention, demanding to know where Vince was.

"You should know he would also be welcomed. He is the Alpha. Were you expecting him to arrive before you?"

That was another mess-up from me. I immediately remembered Richy's usual phrase that I have memory loss.

Elena appears to be harsh and rude. She assumes I know everything and I don't blame her.

Her response to me got me thinking and I would at a point may get upset at her if care isn't taken.

She doesn't politely respond to me and that makes me uncomfortable.

A very tall young man came closer to me and asked me to be a bit patient as the Alpha is in an emergency meeting with a few individuals.

I nodded my head. Having heard from Richy calling himself beta, I felt the person could be the bat of the pack.

The dancers were asked to resume dancing. Snacks were being distributed to avoid people getting tired of waiting.

I sent for the guy who came to inform me about Vince.

"Where is Vince Igbo may ask again. He handed me the chain, and on this important celebration, he's not here."

He smiled at my question.

"I just told you that he is in an emergency meeting and in a few minutes he will be with us. Yes, he handed you over the golden chain, and he is the only one who could do so."

His politeness was splendid and I admired him for that. He has made me understand who Vince is and that I have captured.

"Are you still the beta of this pack? I have forgotten a few things."

"Yes, they wanted to change me but Alpha was against that. I know you marked my face."

I got what I wanted. Alpha and beta should always be best friends. The way he spoke, I concluded they are working in peace.

A trumpet sound came up. Everyone stood up; those who were taking the snack stopped.

I turned to my right, and the Alpha was coming. His long gown and cap were different from others. I smiled at him but he didn't look towards me.

He was busy going round the hall to greet people by section.

I looked at Elena in case she might signal me on what to do, but I couldn't see her.

Despite her rude nature, I don't have anyone I could confide in. I was just trying to get acquainted with the happenings around me.

It was already getting dark, and everyone was expecting brief speeches, as I observed.

The Alpha came back to his seat and asked me to sit down immediately he sat down.

Ordinarily, he should have told me to do so. He saw me a few seconds after him and all the members had sat down.

A failure on my side. I am a big failure. I sat down and he asked me to briefly explain my experiences. Immediately, I am called upon to speak for time's sake.

I nodded my head in agreement. Their music was stopped and only a few were eating snacks.

"What's happening? When am I to speak? I asked him in a low tone."

In two minutes you will be speaking. They are wolves, though in human form today, let them finish taking their snakes.

In exactly two minutes I was invited to the podium. I stepped out to the podium, took the microphone to speak. After a warm greeting, I tried to start the next chapter that has to do with my experiences, and slumped

He brought an entire war fleet, blotting out the sky, just to "rescue" me. He nearly slaughtered the boy out of blind jealousy, forcing me to throw myself into his arms and cry fake tears to stop the bloodshed. "I'm taking you home. No one will ever hurt you again." He brought me to his flagship's secret medical bay and ordered the Empire's chief doctor to run a full genetic classification test on me. I panicked. If they discovered my true identity as an off-world Alpha, I would be dissected or executed. I immediately commanded my AI system to fake my blood data, aiming for a perfectly average, forgettable Omega result.
