Chapter 2

It was like a dream where I was going around the environment I found myself in.

Everyone was avoiding me. Some were distancing themselves when I was coming closer.

I climbed the trees, got some fruits but didn't take them.

A very strange sun was flashing in my eyes steadily like a flash of a headlamp.

The queen I saw was in a white gown. She was putting on a golden crown.

She raised my hand and asked me to proceed to do more. According to her, it is not yet my time and she wouldn't want me to be that way.

In a few minutes, I noticed I had a strong feeling. Feeling I haven't felt before. I gradually woke up.

I got confused about where I was. No one was around. It was in a bush and a very lonely place.

I suspect the queen was the moon goddess. I had enough strength immediately she touched me

I was still confused as to why I should be lonely in an environment I woke up in.

I sat down to see if I could understand the place but I wasn't getting it. A few wolves were going to farm in a human form.

I observed them where I was sitting, but they did not see me.

I stood up after I watched them pass. About seven of them lined up talking to each other.

I wasn't feeling hungry, nor did I have anything to eat. Yet to know where I am and the reason I am where I am

I started moving around the place. A strange land and in a bush.

I met a hunter in the bush who asked me my name I was looking at him confused

He asked me to hold on that he will be back soon.

There was a fire he lit up. Stayed back to avoid the fire getting close to me

In a while, he brought me water to wash my face and hands which I did

I touched his gun, raised it up but he collected it from me

"Take this and eat from me. It is a bush meat, well prepared. I killed it this morning." He said as he handed me a plate of bush meat.

I collected it but was reluctant to eat it. I asked him to hold off that I eat later.

He brought a roasted yam from his hot pot and served it to me, but I still didn't want to take it.

"Why are you isolating me as if you do not know who I am?" He asked, frowning at her face.

"What is your name, and where exactly are we?" I asked.

He smiled at me and told me he had been kind to me and wouldn't want to see me being angry for any reason, but he had a question.

"I know for a few months we met, we communicated well whenever I came here to hunt for animals around this Forest."

"Is it that during the period I was away, you lost your memory?"

His explanation and questions got me worried. He must have known me, which is why he was friendly with me.

To get the information I wanted, I had to play along. I have to pretend and follow up on him.

"Yes, I fell sick and lost my memory of the period you were not around. You stayed for too long without coming. I need your help."

Hearing from me, he dropped the food he was eating, washed his hands, and asked me to come closer.

I went closer to him, he held me, and told me he would help me to heal

"But you are still very strong as usual, you only have one problem which is memory loss."

"From your earliest explanation, you ran out of the pack following an external attack. You have a baby girl and you have been away for almost a year now. You were lost."

I carefully listened to him. I was confused about what was going on but I knew he was ready to guide me through.

He took me to the bank of the river close to the forest where he told me we usually stay.

He told me I am good at swimming and he made efforts to ensure I do not drown whenever I go deep.

"You know you have some stubbornness in you, I handle you with care and caution to avoid you being drowned following your reckless swimming."

"Did I tell you where I am from, the pack that was attacked?" I asked.

You didn't buy I made my personal inquiry, you are a Luna of that pack. The reason I treat you with honour and respect.

Being a Luna is a great opportunity among the pack members. I was married to an Alpha, and I decided to live in the forest.

I got more worried but still didn't want him to feel bad for me. I knew I was confused about the environment but I am determined to get to the root of the matter of why I am where I am.

The forest is in two parts, where the garden is very conducive to being. It has some heat, designed for relaxation.

I tried to know why the place is like that. He made me understand it was a pack two years ago but was attacked.

"So why are you here?"

"I was part of the pack, I was the beta of the pack."

"So why did you return?"

"I saw their attack coming, I informed my stubborn Alpha for us to be equipped but he wouldn't listen till their enemies took us unaware." He said.

When I wanted to go further to ask more questions, he told me to halt all I wanted to say.

He took me round the place. Near the river was so calm, the breeze was so chilled that I almost got cold.

He always has his gun for defense in case an animal comes to attack him.

We walked around the place for a long time, and he told me to put my legs in the river, wash my legs, and face.

I did as he directed because I saw myself being very bold to do so. I wasn't sensing any weakness.

After a long walk, I started feeling dizzy and weak. When he noticed, he asked.

"Are you hungry?"

"I wonder why you have yet to eat because I know you are good at consuming food. I also understand that you like food so much."

"Irene, you have to look for a way and eat. You are tired because you haven't yet consumed any food. Inside my hot, your food is there."

He called me Irene and I was surprised. I didn't tell him that, but he called me by that name.

"Why did you call me by that name and who told you it is my name?" I was curious to know.

"A lady who claimed she was your schoolmate called you by that name. She apologized to you for not attending your wedding."

"Where was the lady going?"

"The father owns a livestock farm a few miles away. They were going to check on them, and she saw you with me, but you only smiled at her, never responded to all she said."

I knew that there could be trouble for me if the lady came again to see me.

I needed to stay off where people pass. It has been about a year since she saw me, what will she be thinking?

We agreed to return to his hot so that I could eat. It was obvious that I was weak due to hunger.

"Try to walk fast so you can eat something," Richy said

We got to the hot, and I followed him. It's very cold inside. The plates were open, but the yamss and meat were missing.

He brought an entire war fleet, blotting out the sky, just to "rescue" me. He nearly slaughtered the boy out of blind jealousy, forcing me to throw myself into his arms and cry fake tears to stop the bloodshed. "I'm taking you home. No one will ever hurt you again." He brought me to his flagship's secret medical bay and ordered the Empire's chief doctor to run a full genetic classification test on me. I panicked. If they discovered my true identity as an off-world Alpha, I would be dissected or executed.
