For Richer, For Poorer, Regret Hits Harder

In 2005, Simon Jett watches Celine Lark beg her family to waive the wedding gift he cannot afford. Touched by her loyalty, he refuses her sacrifice and walks back to his own family for help. There, he finds the compensation money already split between his siblings, with nothing left for him. Heartbroken, Simon cuts ties with them and vows to build a new fortune with Celine. But For Richer, For Poorer, Regret Hits Harder. The couple starts from zero, scraping together every coin while her relatives whisper that she married down. Each small victory is shadowed by the question of whether his pride will ever let him truly accept her devotion. As their savings grow, so does the distance between the man who left his family and the woman who gave up hers. Can a marriage built on gratitude survive the weight of everything Simon lost?
